The 2024 Best High Schools rankings include searchable profiles on nearly 25,000 public high schools. Among them, close to 18,000 eligible schools ranked using six indicators. 

Aldine ISD had three high schools that earned national, state, and Houston-area rankings in U.S. News 2024 Best High School Report, released on Tuesday, April 23. The highest-ranked includes those with students who demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations on state assessments, participated in and passed a diverse array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.

The 2024 edition of the Best High Schools includes a numerical ranking of nearly all public high schools nationwide, totaling more than 18,000 based on multiple objective data sources.

Methodology

Data used to rank high schools includes enrollment, graduation rates, student body demographics, location, type of school, state assessment results, and Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) tests.

RIT International, a global research firm, produces the Best High School rankings. U.S. News does not collect data directly from high schools. All data collected comes directly from third-party sources.
