Dear Parents:

I am excited to be the principal of the Dr. Archie L. Blanson Career & Technical Education High School and lead students in 21st Century learning. I am passionate about preparing students with skills to be a critical thinker, problem solver and life-long learner. The CTE High School will offer a unique learning setting, curriculum and 17 career paths to foster these skills. Parents, I look forward to working in a partnership with you for your student’s success.

I began my career in education as a high school social studies teacher at Eisenhower High School. I taught for nine years and then served as an assistant principal for nine years at the middle school, ninth grade school and high school levels in AISD. I then served as a middle school principal for 3 years and principal of Eisenhower High School for the past 7 years. I have 28 years of experience all in AISD and am also a proud graduate of this district.

The community and students will both benefit as a well-qualified work force is prepared to meet the demands of an ever-changing, highly demanding work environment.

I have 24 years of experience as a state of Texas certified educator with 18 of those years being earned here in Aldine ISD.  I am a native Houstonian and received my Bachelors of Science from Houston’s pride of 3rd Ward, Texas Southern University.  My first teaching/coaching assignment here in Aldine ISD was Aldine Middle School (Home of the Colts).  I later received my masters degree in 1998 from the historic Prairie View A&M University.  In 2007 I successfully defended my dissertation and received my Doctorate of Education degree from my Alma Mater, Texas Southern University.  Through the years I have had the extreme pleasure of working with some of the most dynamic, innovative and dedicated educators and administrators in the nation… right here in Aldine ISD!  I was interviewed for my first teaching job by Dr. A.L. Blanson himself many years ago.  Now, I have the privilege of helping to open an innovative CTE High School named in honor of his years of service and dedication to this district.

My career after college began in the sports and fitness industry where I then quickly transitioned to the medical industry with positions in management, marketing and pharmaceutical sales. After ten years, I switched gears to focus on a career in education. I spent one year at Shotwell Academy where I taught Exploring Careers and then moved into a position as a hospitality practicum teacher where I have been for the last seven years.

The Blanson CTE High School offers our students a unique chance to get a jump start on career paths that are in high demand in the Houston market and beyond. We are offering students the opportunity to obtain college credits, get hands-on work experience, and obtain industry certifications all before they walk across that stage and receive their high school diploma! I am thrilled to assist future Blanson CTE High School students as they navigate the application process. Your Future IS our Mission!
