Beginning Tuesday, October 27, Aldine ISD Child Nutrition will extend meal bundle pickup services to provide food for all Aldine ISD students and children 18 and under. 

Students Learning At-Home and Children 18 and Under

To increase participation in meal bundle pickup, Aldine Child Nutrition is adding an additional six curbside meal sites to their list of 12. Mead Middle School, Carroll, Goodman, Kujawa, Harris and Marcella elementary schools will serve as meal bundle pickup sites on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Additionally, an evening pick up time has been added at the high schools to provide a second opportunity for families to pick up meal bundles. Evening meal bundle pick up will be available from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Aldine, Blanson CTE, Carver, Davis, Eisenhower, MacArthur and Nimitz high schools. 

Aldine ISD employees can also take advantage of the evening meal bundles. Employees can pick up meals for their children on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 3:30 p.m. at any of the high schools providing evening meal bundles.

Students Learning On Campus

Elementary, middle and high school students learning on-campus will have an opportunity to take home weekend meal bundles each Friday after school. Students will be able to pick up a weekend meal bundle on their way home, whether they are a car rider, bus rider, or walker. This will include breakfast and lunch meals for Saturday and Sunday. 

Beginning October 30: Weekend Meal Kits available to Middle School, Ninth Grade and High Schools

Beginning November 6: Weekend Meal Kits available to Elementary Schools

Who are the meals for?

Aldine ISD understands that food is important to children’s overall well-being and academic success. Meal bundles are available to all children 18 and under. Free meal bundles, breakfast and lunch, are available to students participating in on-campus learning, virtual learning, as well as children 18 and under, who are not currently enrolled in Aldine ISD. 

The Texas Department of Agriculture policy requires parents or guardians picking up meals without a child present to present documentation for each child. Accepted documentation includes one of the following (only one form is required): 

• Official letter/email/electronic school application
• Student report card
• Student ID card
• Attendance records with student’s names,
• A birth certificate.

Why should you pick up meals?

Aldine ISD Child Nutrition is offering free meals through an extended waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). All students learning on campus and at home can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. 

• Two stops a week = 14 meals per child
• Free meals help stretch your own household food budget. 
• School meals are convenient and time-saving. Each meal bundle comes with heating directions.
• School meals deliver nutrition, taste and fun!
• School meals use local products and help sustain the local economy, creating and maintaining jobs.

All students are eligible for one breakfast and one lunch per day per federal guidance. If a student eats breakfast and lunch on campus, the student is not eligible to pick up meals at the curbside meal site. They will be able to take home weekend meal bundles on Fridays
