Field careers require knowledge of computer operating systems, programming languages and software development. Individuals with expertise in programming and software development work with cutting-edge technologies. They are working to develop tomorrow’s products for use by businesses and consumers. People with this expertise are in high demand. For example, they are creating the software that launches and runs NASA space missions.
