The Blanson CTE Visual Arts Department Celebrates!
Congratulations to our students who have gone above and beyond expectations. Twenty students’ artworks were sent to the Rodeo and FFA art contest, and three of them made it to the finalist round. Congratulations go out to Faith Rinosa, Alejandra Juarez, and Gina Matamoros! All other students placed first and second!
Art instructors Mr. Brink and Mr. Peel submitted a total of 20 artworks to the Scholastic Art and Writing National Contest. The Alliance presents the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards whose mission is to “identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards”. Four students were honored and earned a silver key. We congratulate Connor Carpenter, Dawn Cabalquinto, Christina Sanchez and Mark Cabalquinto.
The scholastic art contest is a nationwide contest and receiving a gold or silver key is very rare.
