Join Aldine ISD in celebrating our APs April 4-8, 2022.

We want to thank our assistant principals for their hard work and dedication to Aldine Independent School District children. They often work in the background and get little credit for their contributions to making their school successful. Still, their significant contributions to student success make a difference in students’ lives every day.

“I am incredibly proud of our dedicated school administrators and their work in creating safe and successful school cultures. These thought leaders are instrumental in a school’s success, always putting students first,” said Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney.

AP Responsibilities

Assistant principals ensure high standards of student performance in a safe learning environment. Their leadership helps ensure our buildings operate smoothly daily and that our students receive high-quality learning experiences. They work closely with their campus principals to:

• analyze data and develop plans to improve student achievement;
• monitor student behavior and enforce discipline rules;
• coordinate a system for tracking student attendance and tardiness by enforcing attendance policies;
• select and evaluate school staff;
• maintain effective communication and form positive relationships with school customers; and more.

Chief of Schools Dr. Katy Roede stated that the district is fortunate to have an exceptional team of assistant principals and is grateful for their hard work and dedication. Roede asks that if you cross paths with your assistant principal, make sure you wish them a happy AP Week. Assistant principals should be on the lookout this week. The district will honor assistant principals with a small gift delivered to each school throughout National AP Week. Be sure to share using the hashtags #AldineForward and #APWeek.
