Aldine ISD will hold its annual School Choice Festival on Saturday, November 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center, located at 1865 Aldine Bender Road.

Who Should Attend?

Families and students considering any of the district’s school choice options should attend to learn about the programs, talk with school staff, and students currently enrolled in school choice programs, as well as learn how to join school choice options.

The district offers a wide variety of school choice options — ranging from early childhood to the 12th grade — that allow parents to elect out of an assigned boundary school zone. Most of the campuses specialize in a specific area or areas of interest. There are programs for students as young as three years of age.

School Choice Options by Theme

  • Career and Technology Education
  • Early College
  • Fine Arts
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Montessori
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts & Mathematics (STEAM)
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)

  • Charter School Partnership With YES Prep

  • Virtual Learning Online
  • Early Childhood

What to Expect at the Festival

The festival draws large crowds, so arrive early to park. The event will give families time to talk with staff and students from the different magnet schools, IB® World Schools, and representatives from choice high school programs.

At the event, each campus will have a booth where families can get information and learn about campus tours. Campus organizations will be on hand to discuss offerings and programs available to students.

The festival is also an opportunity to showcase what students are doing, learning, and experiencing at the schools. Expect to see visual arts on display and performing arts students to entertain the crowds. Scheduled events will take place in the Arena, Foyer, the Teaching Theater, Room 104, and halls of the M.O. Campbell Educational Center (MOC).

Additionally, campuses have invited alumni to support their alma maters.

Enter for a Chance to Win

Families that attend have a chance to provide feedback by completing and submitting a survey. Those that do will be entered into a drawing for prizes the day of the festival. In addition to door prizes, there is a chance to win a seat at a magnet school, IB® Primary Years Program, and IB® Middle Years Program! One seat for each grade level at every campus — except for the IB® Diploma Program at Eisenhower HS, where students must meet requirements for admission — will be given away. Winners must be present to receive prizes and seats at campuses.

Deadlines to Apply Are Fast Approaching! Applications Will Be Available at the Festival

Applications are available online and at the festival, for parents to apply. The programs are open to all students that live in Aldine and the surrounding districts.
